How to fix 0KB error when downloading with IDM

Some Hosting providers will turn off the readfile() function for security reasons.

So you will get a 0KB error when downloading any file with IDM (Internet Download Manager) or browser. And in error.log will show specific errors as follows:

PHP Warning: readfile() has been disabled for security reasons

In this case, don’t hesitate to get in touch with your hosting provider and ask them to open the readfile() function to fix this problem.

Then everything will work again.
